LCK 2026 Media Day: Finalists Name Their Greatest Threats

At the CHZZK LoL Park in Jonggak, the LCK 2026 final media day brought together T1, Gen.G Esports and Hanwha Life Esports. Instead of generic answers, coaches and players offered sharp assessments of their opponents. Gen.G arrived from the upper bracket after beating Hanwha Life Esports 3-1, while Hanwha Life Esports rallied from a 1-2 deficit to eliminate T1 3-2 in the lower bracket match. Gen.G head coach Yoo Sang-wook said T1's strength lies in creating unpredictable variables, while Hanwha Life Esports is dangerous because of aggressive plays and tower dives. Yoon Sung-young of Hanwha Life Esports highlighted Gen.G's ability to slow down losses and stage comebacks. T1 interim head coach Im Jae-hyeon pointed to Hanwha Life Esports' early top-lane priority and Gen.G's polished macro play. The most compelling segment featured AD carries Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong and Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan. Gumayusi and Ruler praised Peyz's teamfight instincts and mechanical creativity. Peyz emphasized the overwhelming veteran experience of both players. Ruler called Gumayusi a strong laner with clever reads, while Gumayusi credited Ruler's deep game knowledge and consistency. Other players also contributed to the tactical picture. Kim “Kiin” Ki-in praised Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok's unexpected aggression and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok's teamfight coordination. Kanavi and Keria both highlighted Kiin's versatility across many champion types. The media day showed three teams that have studied one another thoroughly. None of them described an opponent as beatable. Their mutual respect, however, may mask weaknesses and open the door for a final defined by small details rather than pre-match narratives.
